Do you ever feel unqualified to do the work of the Lord? Scripture tells us, “God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And He chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful" 1Cor.1:27. The world may call you unqualified but God is the One who qualifies you. Ask God today what He wants you to do and trust Him to help you do it.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind - 2 Timothy 1:7. When we think of power, it's easy to picture a king or a president or a military general. But the kind of power God has given us isn't necessarily power over other people, instead it is power over ourselves. We have been set free from our old nature. We no longer are bound by sin or chained to our past.  We have been given freedom. We have the power to find peace in the midst of chaos. We have the power to find joy in the midst of uncertainty.

In this life, our earthly fathers can fail us- even good, godly men can still fail. But one thing we know for sure is that our Heavenly Father will never fail us. Scripture says that God is “A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation” (Ps. 68:5). God desires to meet your needs as a Father. Will you reach out to Him today? He is waiting, with arms wide open.

Do you need prayers of protection? God promises us in His Word that although bad things do happen in life, He will work it out for His glory and our good. He also promises to be our rock, our unmovable foundation in times of trouble, our savoir and protector. Psalm 18:2 says, "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” Psalm 18:2.

In the same way God cares for us, He desires us to care for one another. Scripture says, "Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility]" (Phil.2:4-5). Jesus cared for us selflessly and desires that we not only focus on our own needs but also on the needs of others.

Scripture tells us that if we give, it will be given unto us. God loves it when we give to those in need. Matthew 6:3-4 says, "But when you give to the poor and do acts of kindness, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing [give in complete secrecy], so that your charitable acts will be done in secret; and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you." When we give to the poor, God sees it and He rewards us for loving the least of these the way He loves us.

God desires freedom for all of His children. Only through Christ, can we have true freedom that lasts. Psalm 107:14 says, "And He brought them out from darkness and the shadow of death, shattering their chains." What chains do you need broken in your life? Addiction, abuse, unforgiveness? Whatever it is, the power of Christ is greater than any stronghold of the enemy; that power lives within you. Pray with us today...

Romans 12:8 reminds us God has given each person spiritual gifts. These gifts are strengths in areas we can help others who are in need. Each person has a strength, but have you ever noticed how much easier it is to pinpoint a friend's gift than your own?  Friend, you are filled with gifts downloaded directly from the Holy Spirit. You have value, and you have a voice. If you feel weak or gift-less today, simply ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what those gifts might be. Pray and ask God to show you how He sees you. What you will hear is guaranteed to change you life.

Do you ever feel like giving up? Sometimes it takes a great deal of strength to be patient and steadfast in the Lord. But God's word tells us, "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain" (1Cor. 15:58). When we abide in Christ, none of our labor, prayers, waiting or believing is in vain. Whatever situation you are facing, we encourage you to not give up and to not lose heart.
