“In the multitudes of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” (NKJV)  “ When doubts filled my mind, Your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” (NLT) “When I was upset and beside myself, You calmed me down and cheered me up.” (MSG)

Just like there are different versions of Scripture, we all respond differently to stress, anxiety, and things that upset us.  The difference is the meaning of Scripture remains the same.  In this case, no matter the discord, God will be there to calm us, to comfort us, to restore us, and cheer us.  What is your response to anxiety, worry, how do you make it “go away”-do you stuff it down trying to ignore it?  Maybe you cry, or head to a comfort food, a phone call to a friend?  When we feel out of control and in pain the first reaction is to get away from it with whatever patterns we have learned over our life.

Let’s look at another avenue of escape, and this one leads to an everlasting freedom of hope.  It really is very simple-trust God, believe Him and talk to Him.  You are a wanted creation by the hand of the Lord, and He would love to help you.  “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and Grace.”
